Worst NFL Team of All Time?

On our way to finding out the worst NFL team of all time, we found a team that got outscored by LaDanian Tomlinson. Another team had a quarterback who didn't know where the end zone finished. Let's find out who the worst team in NFL history is.

5. 2007 Miami Dolphins (1-15)

The 2007 Dolphins are the fifth worst NFL team of all time. The Dolphins had the opportunity in the 2007 draft - considered one of the greatest drafts in recent times - to strengthen the team in key areas. The draft produced a huge volume of instant starters including Calvin Johnson, Joe Thomas, and Adrian Peterson who are some of the greatest ever players at their position.

Miami shocked everyone and selected wide receiver Ted Ginn Jr. at pick #9 to a chorus of boos from outraged Dolphins fans. Miami were quarterback needy and drafted John Beck in the second round who ended up being a bust.

Beck and fellow quarterbacks Cleo Lemon and Trent Green combined for only 12 touchdowns and 16 interceptions for the season. Not a single receiver scored multiple touchdowns.

Superstar running back Ricky Williams returned for his first game in almost two years following a suspension for breaching the NFL drug policy with Miami at 0-10. After only six rush attempts he tore his pectoral muscle and was out for the rest of the season.

Saving the 2007 Dolphins from being the worst team in NFL history is a Week 15 win against the Ravens. It meant they avoided being the first team to go 0-16 in a season. Coach Cam Cameron was considered totally inept and was fired at the end of the season.

4. 2016 Cleveland Browns (1-15)

The Browns followed up a 3-13 season with the fourth worst team in NFL history. The 2016 Browns finished with a single win, a Week 16 win over the Chargers.

Cleveland gave up the second pick of the 2016 draft, Philidelphia picking Carson Wentz instead, who alongside Nick Foles helped guide the Eagles to win Super Bowl LII. The Browns kept trading those picks and they turned into stars including Deshaun Watson and Jack Conklin outside of Cleveland.

The 2016 Cleveland Browns were bad, but they weren't the worst NFL team. They were unlucky losing five games by a single score with two of those in overtime. But while Wentz was setting the league alight, the quarterback position was a revolving door at Cleveland.

Cleveland rotated through five quarterbacks during the season. Cody Kessler was one of them, the rookie taken in the third round of the draft ahead of Dak Prescott who went to the Cowboys. What could've been.

3. 2017 Cleveland Browns (0-16)

The 2017 Cleveland Browns won all four preseason games. They became the second team to finish the regular season 0-16 and are the third worst team in NFL history. Following on from their 1-15 season the Browns showed everyone why they were the worst NFL team, managing the worst two-year period by any team by going 1-31.

Cleveland were unlucky at times. Four of their losses were by a single field goal. Two games went into overtime. They had a solid running back combo between Isaiah Crowell and Duke Johnson. On defense, rookie pass rusher Myles Garrett was explosive recording 7 sacks and a fumble recovery in only 11 games.

Unfortunately their quarterback situation was disastrous. DeShone Kinzer started in 15 games throwing 11 touchdowns and a league-worst 22 interceptions. Second-string quarterback Kevin Hogan was handed the reigns in Week 6. He played so poorly he was relegated to third-string straight after.

The Browns closed the season with Corey Coleman dropping a routine catch just after the two-minute warning in their final game. It would've led them to 11 yards out from a game winning drive to avoid the second winless season in history. It sums up one of the worst team in NFL history and makes sense why the Browns were investigated for tanking.

Great shot. Gotta feel for Coleman. pic.twitter.com/JBkEqyIrja
