The 6 Teams That Have Never Won MLB World Series (Part 2)

G'day Hiveans. Yesterday I posted three teams that have never won the MLB World Series which you can check out here. Today I've got the final three teams below, which makes up the six teams that have never won the World Series.

Milwaukee Brewers

After only one season as the Seattle Pilots, the franchise relocated to Milwaukee to become known as the Brewers. The franchise appeared in one World Series in 1982 after clinching the AL Championship, going down to the Cardinals in seven games despite going 3-2 up in the series. That's as close as the Brewers have come to winning a World Series.

The Brewers reached the NL Championship Series in 2018 and would lose to World Series winners the Atlanta Braves, in the 2021 National League Division Series. Milwaukee do play in one of the smallest television markets in the MLB so considering this, they are a franchise that punches above their weight.

San Diego Padres

The Padres were founded in 1969 and have won two National League pennants but they've never been able to win the World Series. They came up short against two great teams in the Detroit Tigers of 1984 and the New York Yankees in 1998, able to win only one game in both series.

San Diego lost their NFL team in 2016 and it remains the largest U.S. city not to have won a major league sports championship. The Padres are the only team left to be able to change that. Promisingly for Padres fans, there's a willingness from owners to spend like a large market team and the architecturally brilliant Petco Park remains one of the best ballparks in America.

Seattle Mariners

The Seattle Mariners are the most lowly on the list as the only team that has never played in a World Series, let alone, won it. The Mariners joined the MLB in 1977 as an expansion team and they did find success in the 1990s and early 2000s, making the AL Championship game three times.

It's a shame that T-Mobile Park, one of the better ballparks in the MLB, has rarely hosted playoff baseball. The city is also more inclined to back the Seahawks and even the Sounders but the Mariners still have their 116-win 2001 MLB season to remember. You can bet if the Mariners ever make it to the World Series, every neutral fan in the world will be backing them to win.

Amazing isn't it. I wrote it to someone else though, is the chase better than the catch? Obviously fans would die for a World Series but would the passion and support of all supporters remain in the season after?

I believe many die hard fans would remain! But that is an interesting point!
