Pizza Party 🍕 Watching Colombia 🇨🇴 vs Argentina 🇦🇷 qualifying for the World Cup

I may be the only person on this green and blue planet unmoved by football. Back home in Egypt, where I come from, they’re mad for it. Poor kids who can’t afford to buy a ball, will roll up their socks and kick them around in the street.

I never got the fuss why people lose their mind over grown men in shorts chasing a ball up and down a field. Then, again, my idea of excitement is a good book and sports, generally, seem to me like a waste of batteries. 🔋

But, now that I’m in Colombia, in the interest of cultural understanding, we’re hosting a football party — with Colombia playing in an important qualifying match.

To prepare for this event m, we went to town & picked up pizza. I took this occasion to poll whoever could understand my broken Spanish to see who they thought would win, today. Most said Argentina (even though they hoped, of course, Colombia would win).

In an attempt to play it safe and social distance, I’m watching the game from outside the TV room. It’s half-time, and the score is 1-0 Argentina.

I predict the final score will be 3-1, Argentina, but I don’t want to discourage our local guests — who are so nervous, they cannot eat & hardly speak

Sending good cheer from our farm & may best team win!
