Altamira Square

Plaza Altamira is my favorite place in Caracas, because it is a place of which I have huge and good memories. Years ago I used to work a few blocks away from this place, so day after day, I could admire its beauty and feel its incredible energy. But like everything in life, circumstances changed, which forced me to return to my hometown, leaving behind the modernity of the capital and leaving this square in a special place in my memories. But fortunately, every time I have traveled to Caracas, for some reason or another, I have had to walk these iconic blocks again, so I have been able to admire the urban evolution of the place and at the same time recall those experiences of a complex but interesting past.

La Plaza Altamira es mi lugar favorito en Caracas, ya que se trata de un lugar del cual tengo enormes y buenos recuerdos. Hace años atrás trabajaba A pocas cuadras de este espacio, por lo cual, día tras día, podía admirar su belleza y sentir su increíble energía. Pero como todo en la vida, las circunstancias cambiaron, lo que me obligó a al regresar a mi ciudad natal, dejando atrás la modernidad de la capital y quedando esta plaza en un lugar especial de mis recuerdos. Pero afortunadamente, cada vez que he viajado a Caracas, por alguna u otra razón he tenido que volver a surcar estas icónicas cuadras, con lo cual he podido admirar la evolución urbana del lugar y al mismo tiempo rememorar aquellas vivencias de un pasado complejo pero interesante.

It is a large public space, full of flowers and architectural details. Walking through these spaces is like being transported to the heart of the 1950s, but always with a horizon that points firmly towards modernity. When I have to return to this place, I make sure I have plenty of time, so that I can walk to the fullest, feel the cold breeze coming down from the mountain and enjoy an environment that is in constant movement.

Se trata de un espacio público de grandes dimensiones, lleno de flores y detalles arquitectónicos. Caminar por estos espacios es como transportarse al corazón de los años 50, pero siempre con un horizonte que apunta firmemente hacia la modernidad. Cuando tengo que regresar a este lugar, me aseguro de tener tiempo de sobra, para de esta manera poder caminar a plenitud, sentir la brisa fría que baja de la montaña y disfrutar de un entorno que se encuentra en permanente movimiento.

An overcast sky and a pleasant climate made me feel very well, without hesitation I walked through each space of the place and enjoyed observing that every corner is preserved optimally, the water mirrors have a clean and totally transparent liquid, which allows us to observe the background of blue mosaics, the obelisk is still imposing pointing to the sky and the buildings around us continue to witness the passage of days and inside are sheltered past events that have transcended through history.

Un cielo encapotado y un clima agradable me hicieron sentir muy bien, sin dudarlo recorrí cada espacio del lugar y disfruté al observar que cada rincón se encuentra preservado de manera óptima, los espejos de agua cuentan con un líquido limpio y totalmente transparente, el cual nos permite observar el fondo de mosaicos azules, el obelisco sigue imponente apuntando hacia el cielo y los edificios a nuestro alrededor siguen presenciando el paso de los días y en su interior se resguardan acontecimientos pasados que han trascendido a través de la historia.

It is great when walking leads us to enjoy beautiful landscapes, it is incredible that the easiest exercise to perform can also lead us to an environment full of good energy, many memories and great emotions. For this reason I keep walking with my head held high and full of joy, because destiny always has something different in store for us and no matter how much we walk over and over again the same space, at every opportunity we will find something that makes a difference, a detail that we have overlooked or a novelty that has changed the meaning of things.

Es genial cuando caminar nos lleva a disfrutar de paisajes hermosos, es increíble que el ejercicio más fácil de realizar también nos pueda conducir hacia un ambiente lleno de buenas energías, muchos recuerdos y grandes emociones. En por esta razón Sigo caminando con la frente en alto y lleno de alegría, porque el destino siempre nos depara algo diferente y por más que recorramos una y otra vez el mismo espacio, en cada oportunidad encontraremos algo que marque la diferencia, un detalle que hemos pasado por alto o una novedad cambio el sentido a las cosas.
