Barbados Tridents won the toss invited Trinbago Knight Riders to bat first after winning the toss. Trinbago Knight Riders had a very good inning, scored 185 runs after losing only 3 wickets in 20 overs, and set a big score target of 185 runs for Barbados Tridents. Munro 50 (30) and DM Bravo 54 (36) played half-centuries inning, Pollard an unbeaten 41 off 17 balls, L Simmons 21 off 21 balls and Narine scored 8 runs in 16 balls.
