#SublimeSunday - A Honey-Do Day

avatar

Sometimes as the man of the house, a long list of chores piles up for Sunday. Sometimes, those chores turn you into an old lady scratching around the garden and snapping pics of your flowers!

I have my Pickleman Family Garden post on deck as today, we put the some finishing touches on the 2022 edition. Still growing a few last flowers, herbs and veggies from seeds and my new iPhone sure can take some neat shots.

I made one last stop at the greenhouse because there was a flash sale on veggies I could not resist. You will see I was already well-stocked in the garden but a trip to hang out with the plants and my little one is time well spent.

Digdog shared many of these steps with me as he loves having free reign of the back yard beyond an open back door. We had to dog proof the garden so he would not treat it all like a toy and dig it all up. A kiddie pool of rain water is his idea of fun

I will try to minimize the spoilers of the garden post but can say that things are looking very green. Today was a day of war when I dove into every corner of the yard an pulled all the thistles, bind weeds, invasive species and a bunch of tiny maple and oak trees which love to try and grow from my flowerbeds.

Now that the weeding, planting and watering is done for the day, time to unwind with a big fat juicy ipa. I have had a few different ones with the name Juice Box and have liked them all.

May your Sunday have been as colourful and sublime as mine.

I can understand the dog proofing the garden, we had two blue heeler dalmatians that would dig everywhere lol! Sounds like a very active and very enjoyable Sunday my friend! Congratulations on your 6K @actifit steps!!

I will show some of the dog countermeasures in my GardenHive post but I think I may have it secure....til he realizes the barriers can be jumped on. We will see!

Those were 6k tough steps crawling through the brush and pullin probably 500 weeds. I don't mind them so much but they choke out my hostas, blueberries and flowers.

Good to have you along!

These greenhouses have a lot of deals. The iphones take great photos, even the older models still produce good results. I heard of a juicebox beer that was originate from New Orleans, it has alcohol volume of over 8% !

Yes the greenhouses grow way too many veggies in hopes of selling them and then have extras when June hits. I snagged a sickly cucumber, some celery for fun and some flowers to add to my hanging baskets. I am such an old lady because of this garden!

I think Juice Box is a popular name everywhere. Here is another one from a different brewery just down the road with the same name https://www.banditbrewery.ca/store/juicebox-can

With such a beautiful garden that you show, everyone stays in it, all the time enjoying such a beautiful setting, plus the tasty aroma that its plantations emit. Friend, what you show is very beautiful, I wish you much success. I imagine that the surrounding climate favors your garden. Hugs from Venezuela.

Yes even in southern Canada, the climate is modewrate enough to be able to grow veggies like tomatoes, peppers, carrots, lettuce cucumber and many flowers. The growing season is a little slower to arrive and quicker to depart but producing foor for us and the bees is good for the soul!

That's right, as a professor of Agriculture with a mention in Phytotechnics, a retired professor more than 10 years ago, having a plot of land for planting vegetables, especially, is a very interesting job, but a delicate one, since it requires a cool climate, great care with pests, using suitable fertilizers, and is very productive. In Venezuela eating vegetables is very pleasant. Successes friend, your publications are very beautiful.
