Walking To Fitness My Actifit Report Card: November 4 2025

it is dawn already,and I took a walk to my Alma Mater,the various pictures uploaded with my Infinix phone,captures the ampian way, classrooms and hostels with a beautiful ambience.

Please know that prolonged inactivity,such as staying indoors for like a long period of time without exercise can indeed lead a reduction in muscle 💪 mass and bone 🦴 mass even if you are eating normally.Especially been in bed, without moving an inch.

FOR MUSCLES:
When you're inactive, your body doesn't need to maintain as much muscle tissue, leading to a process called muscle atrophy. This can start happening within days to weeks of bed rest, with noticeable losses in muscle mass and strength.

Studies show that even short periods, like a week of bed rest, can result in significant muscle wasting, especially in the legs and lower body, and this effect worsens over time like a month.

Eating only provides calories and nutrients, but without movement to stimulate muscle maintenance, the body breaks down muscle protein anyway.

FOR BONES:
Bones require weight bearing activity (like walking or standing) to stay dense and strong.Prolonged bed rest reduces this mechanical loading, leading to bone resorption where the body loses bone mineral density, particularly in weight bearing areas like the legs and spine.
This can happen over weeks to months and increases the risk of conditions like osteoporosis if it persists. While bone loss might not be as visibly obvious as muscle shrinkage, it contributes to overall weakening.
Please note;staying indoors itself isn't the direct cause,it's the lack of movement and exercise

So, even if you are indoors try and exercise,walk around,do yaga or better still do aerobics.And you would thank yourself you did.

Well for my ACTIFIT report for today,After I came back from visiting my Alma Mater,I walked down to go see my parent in the Afternoon.I used that opportunity to add more steps by walking.
Thus surpassing yesterday's report.I actually covered over 10,000steps.
