What a night, my Hive football family! The Emirates Stadium turned into a cauldron of pure north London madness as Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal delivered a convincing 2-0 demolition of Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League Round of 16 second leg. With the first leg locked at 1-1 (Andrich header vs Havertz penalty), the Gunners needed just one goal to advance,but they went full beast mode and bagged two clinical strikes to seal a 3-1 aggregate triumph. We’re marching into the quarter-finals for the third straight season and the quadruple dream is very much alive!
Eberechi Eze lit the fuse with a stunning first Champions League goal, Declan Rice slammed the door shut with a curler and the entire squad showed why Arsenal are the most feared home side in Europe right now.

Arteta’s boys controlled the tempo early despite Leverkusen holding more possession (58% to 42%). The press was relentless, the midfield duo of Rice & Zubimendi shut down Palacios, and Gyokeres pinned their back three like a lion.
Goal 1:
Eze’s Blockbuster (35’)-Pure Magic!
Leandro Trossard fed Eze on the edge of the box. He controlled, swiveled, and unleashed a half-volley rocket high into the net,Blaswich had no chance! Eze’s first UCL goal for Arsenal and what a way to open his account. The Emirates erupted! 1-0 on the night, 2-1 aggregate. The stadium was bouncing, this was the moment the tie tilted decisively.
Gabriel had two big chances from corners earlier, but Blaswich pulled off miracle saves. Eze’s strike changed everything.

Rice’s Curler (62’)-Seal the Deal!
Leverkusen cleared a ball, Rice pounced, took a touch and curled it low into the bottom corner from 25 yards. Right-footed perfection! 2-0 on the night, 3-1 aggregate. Declan Rice,Player of the Match, defended like a beast all game, then produced the killer blow. The Emirates went wild again. Game over. Quarter-finals booked!
My Take
Blaswich, Leverkusens' keeper was the only reason it wasn’t 4 or 5-0. Raya barely had work, but when called upon (Kofane, Maza shots), he was ice cold. Defence (Saliba & Gabriel) won almost every aerial duel. Substitutions at 68-69’ (Havertz, Martinelli, Mosquera, Nørgaard) kept legs fresh and killed any comeback hope. Standout Performers for the Gunners.
Eberechi Eze,match-winner, dream debut UCL goal. That swivel and strike? Viral forever!
Declan Rice,PoM. Defensive master plus a goal. So good defensively and he scored the important second.
David Raya and the back four,clean sheet fortress.
Leverkusen? Organised but toothless away.No cutting edge.Their set-piece threat (Andrich) never materialised.
Arsenal are now unbeaten in 20 UCL games and have beaten German sides convincingly.The boys march on to face Sporting CP in the quarters (7/8 April). Quadruple still on? You bet:Premier League leaders, FA Cup, League Cup, and now UCL run gathering steam.
The Emirates scenes at full-time? Pure ecstasy. Players hugging, fans singing “We’re on our way to the final!” This is why we love this club,
Mikel Arteta’s project is peaking at the perfect time.
