Finally. I've Reached 1 Million Sports Power!

avatar

Alright! Finally, I finally reached the desired goal - 1 Million Sports Power! It's been an amazing journey, full of ups and downs and I finally get my goal.

Sportstalk + Marlians (2).png

It's actually a series of previous goals, check it here where it was a mere 100,000 Sports at first. Then 250,000 and then 600,000 before reaching 1 million Sports Power.

With this achievement, I'm positive that I can now make a bigger impact. Rewarding users, incentivizing my audience, fighting abuse, and most especially become a great inspiration to everyone to increase their stake.

Let's be honest, becoming a whale in Steemit is far from reality - shall I say close to impossible? Also, Steemit has a lot of Bull****. There's a lot going out there that is not pleasing to see. I joined the platform in July 2019, and I was probably one of the early 500 people who jumped in this tribe.

Future Plans & Goals

I believe this is an enough stake to push initiatives in Sportstalk and do something incredible in this platform. Soon if time allows, they will be realized. For now, I just want to grab sip some juice and a fine dinner for this achievement.

Also, I was fortunate enough to accumulate Steem tokens because I was fortunate and I'll tell you soon or you can probably stalk why I got some powerups. Again, I was lucky for that.

Thanks to the people who were part of this success. Looking forward to see more new and promising users here.

Last thing. I don't normally reward much for the users who engage in my posts but since I've achieved a long time goal, I will be more generous this time for users who comment in this post.

I might be the one among first 50 who joined Sportstalksocial and standing at 160K plus, you could say, lack of dedication, and I truly appreciate your dedication and congratulate you on such a wonderful achievement from the bottom of my heart.

Have nice day and even more wonderful journey ahead.

Thank you @mobi72.curation. I believe we're still on the early stage and there's a lot that needs to be done. I'm glad I was able to inspire you at some point.

Have a great day ahead too.

Congrats man. I'm looking forward to the sports talk tribe on here. I've made a few sports related posts on Steemit and just kind of gave up because they were usually my worst performing posts and some of the highest effort posts I would make.

I'm going to spend the next week or two trying to get this account going on LEO and my next account is definitely going to be a sports talk account so I can start talking about fantasy football and League of Legends more as well.

Hoping for a fantasy league for League of Legends so I can share some of my top picks each week for performance as I follow the North American League pretty closely.

I can understand with your disappointments and frustration. In fact I never hope that my posts gets upvoted by Steemians having huge Steem Power. Gives me a little hope.

With Sportstalk, it solves the distribution discrepancy. In terms of behavior, there's a huge difference between the whales here than there (Steemit).

Great! I'm looking forward to see your posts. Good luck on your journey!

Congrats!
"Also, Steemit has a lot of Bull****. There's a lot going out there that is not pleasing to see. "
Unfortunately I have to agree and am focusing on sites like sports too. And I've been here for 3 years lol.
I hope the voting power gets spread so we have a decent democracy here.

Yeah. So much frustrating actually. With Sportstalk, I felt at home.

Yeah, that's why I hope. I am hoping the voting is distributed properly here which I'm trying.

Im just posting my first post here on Sports talk and im wondering if there was ever a Air Drop!? I stake all tribe tokens but have never received an air drop from Sports Talk, do you know how to get it!? Thanks and congrats to you!! Wow!!👍👍👍💁

I'm glad you're here @karenmckersie! :) In terms of Airdrop, I was late that time. I think it was the first week when they announced the Airdrop. I purchase some of my stake and powered up the rewards I received :)

That's great news. I'm assuming you got most of them from posting? I only wish I had more time to write more than a couple of posts per week, between school and work, it's hard to do more. So I've been buying some SPORTS here and there along with my curation and currently have about 175,000 staked. My near-term goal is 500k by the end of the year. Who knows, I may be writing my own 1 million staked post in 2020! :)

I think balanced, I invested in Sports and at the same time powered up my rewards :). I can agree with the hectic schedule, I am working too and I sometimes insert my posting in the middle of the night :)

I am looking forward for that buddy!

Damn friend, thats impressive! Im coming up on Orca Status and I was proud of that, but this makes my accomplishment look stupid! LoL.. i just hope you use your power to benefit the platform and not rape it like so many whales tend to do.. With power comes responsibility and accounts like you with a million sports power will have to act as a gaurdian if you want this platform to succeed.. I wish you the best and hope to see you around in the future helping to shape this awesome sports related platform. Cheers friend 🍻

No buddy. I was once like you before. Check on my previous post mentioned above, it was a journey to get 1million :). Part of it was I am lucky/fortunate. I'll be sharing that soon.

Congrats! I just came back to Steemit and I honestly dislike what I saw there. Decided I would power up here and talk about Sports instead. Seems like what mostly does well on steemit is talk about crypto and I don't want to only write about that. I'm just shy of 500K hope to join the million club soon!

We have the same sentiments. There's a lot of going out there and keeping up consumes a lot of time. Even if you look at your posts, there isn't curation happening (most of the time). So I'd say there's a little failure with the newsteem.

Agreed, I think most of it is never looked at. Or it just doesn't fit what many people are looking for so they just glance over it.

Some are doing their part, but most of the people there are driven with greed, pride, and business-minded. I can't trust the people heading there. Purely driven with money.

I still like STEEM but it does have a lot of problems to work out. Getting better all the time and hopefully it will get there some day.

Sportstalk has huge potential as a tribe if it can get the basics right and create a better user experience than steemit managed. I've been here since day one but have seen a lot of the same mistakes repeat them self from the early days of steemit.

Congrats on the achievement of 1M and hopefully we can see this platform evolve into something that attracts a lot of people and creates a better user experience for people.

Well, honesty is the first failure for Steemit. Imagine 80% of the stakes are ninjamined from the management. That of course can drive crazy, especially in the markets. Now that they're programatically selling their Steems 800k per month, it's clear that they're the reason why Steem has been declining down to the bottom.

It's much different than sportstalk. Even the CEO Patrick purchased his own stake. The tokens are well communicated and are allocated with purpose. That's really what makes this tribe attractive - the honesty of the management and we can see that all over.

The selling has hurt the price but i'm glad they are getting rid of it and funding more development. At least now we are seeing things getting done with Eli at the head of the company. Since the markets are shit anyway it's given people a chance to build up their own stake in the chain and this has spread STEEM across a lot more accounts which is vital for the future. It's harmful for SP to be too concentrated giving accounts massive votes. Hopefully we can see a lot more medium accounts spreading STEEM across a much wider spread of accounts.

The same happened with sportstalk in the beginning giving some accounts massive votes which are very concentrated and leads to people self voting comments and trying to take out as much as possible from the system. Sportstalk failed to moderate this at the beginning and the bad accounts built up large stake and abusive practices. I know STEEM won't be moderated but the tribes need to be to get good content in front of the most people.

Patrick has done some good things with the tribe but it's been a one man team since the beginning and there are a lot of areas to cover so it can't be easy. A least there are referees and other systems coming into place for this and to be fair patrick has been open and honest with all of the plans which is great to see.

I can agree that Patrick still has a small group that handles this tribe. However, we note that tribes are new in the platform and that the idea has been readily developed by Steem-Engine team. Therefore, there is no need for a larger team.
