This morning I checked into the STS Discord and found links to the above comment made by one of our long-standing tribe members.
Thanks for making me laugh this morning, but seriously, that's not how it works.
I then went on to find accounts citing Getty images as the image source for their (multiple daily) posts, and acting like this is cool.
As far as I am aware, ANY Getty image is available for reuse from their website for a minimum of around 150 pounds - something like 1000 STEEM, on a good day.
If you have not paid the 1000+ STEEM to Getty for this image, you cant fucking source it, even if you cite the website that has used it.

Bullshit account like this using copyrighted images, that write 50 words, never comment, and send everything to market, are DILUTING YOUR STAKE. Why the fuck are you up voting them?

I agree. Everyone is quick to upvote but don't give two shits about downvoting. I have noticed that certain accounts just don't care and @klarou12 has made it very clear he wants to bugger off.
The top one hundred give out so few downvotes, it’s a real shame. So we’ll just have to continue looking like buzz-kills.
This post might net me 30000 SPORTS, 15000 of those are taken from a cheater. If a cheater bangs out 3 20k posts a day, they are taking home 30k too but it’s all coming from the pool where deserved creators are working at.
It is amazing even after a warning he continues to do the same thing. People look are for a quick buck and not willing to put any sort of work in.
It may get to the point where there’s more cheating than there is stake nuking it, and at this point I’ll be kicking off the 9 month power-down.

Klarou, for months you've run up against people who tried to give you the benefit of the doubt, guide, etc., to have you knowingly use multiple socks and accounts to skim as much off and repeatedly dog on people sick of it. Saying you put in an amount that you knowingly CHOSE to SUPPOSEDLY invest (I don't bother digging, I don't care), then how everyone is cursing you and you'll do what you want.

I don't want to defend those who are spamming, but I would like to say that I also invested 500 steem that I powered down from my hard working in steem and my upvote was about 3000 sports, but now it's barely 300. I think that hurts anyway. If the guy invested $1500 in the token, he should be happy with that somehow. Maybe you show him the secret and I would like to know as well, how you are getting such great rewards from your posts. I don't think that's only because you have power. I think because you are building strong relations with powerful people in steem and the tribe. So, maybe tell him who to build relations with or how to do so. What communities to join.. etc...
Sometimes we should understand people and explain them things kindly instaid of only complaining about them. I understand that people can be funny sometimes or angry, but we should also understand them.
The platform has high inflation. If you are not actively posting, getting rewarded, staking, etc your influence will be reduced. This is not a platform you can just invest in and sit on your stake and profit. It requires a commitment to the platform and an accumulation of SPORTS to maintain influence.
I think, but don't know for sure, that the fact I've worked pretty hard the past 3 years on Steem as a whole that the votes come in and inflate my rewards.
It's not fair or even logical that just because one bought a lot of SPORTS (I spent about 1000 STEEM initially) that they should continually plagarize and and put no effort in. Some of these accounts post 4/5/6/7 times a day and never comment - they are not here to interact with the community, but only to leech.
You are right, I need to do a better job of using my downvotes now that my account is getting bigger. I am no where near the top ten, but I hope to maybe be close to there one day.
