Watched my daughter swim today
Today was the first day in 3 weeks that I had the chance to see my daughter. She was swimming in a gala at a leisure centre on the outskirts of Nottingham and so I made my way there to see how she would do.
When I arrived I could hear that she wasn't at 100% and she informed me that she had a chest infection and a cold. In any sport, there is no chance that you can perform at your best when your lungs are full of shit but I can imagine that for swimming it is particularly tough.
Unsurprisingly today, she wasn't at her best but still swam well for her age group in 6 different races. I've told her to take the day off school tomorrow and stay in bed as she has another event later this week. It's was great to see her though, and she's a lovely swimmer.
On the way home I stopped into a bar to watch Sheffield United and Manchester United and by the middle of the second half I had seen enough and decided to leave. No more than two minutes after I did this, Manchester scored 3 goals in 7 minutes whilst I was walking home and I arrived back, found a game on a dodgy channel on the laptop, and Sheffield United equalized. FML :)
A farce really, but a good day nonetheless.

It is a very good thing that your daughter has been exposed to an incredible sporting activity do early in her life and with her current feat, I think we should be ready to see her competiting in the Olympics soon.
That Sheffield Utd Vs Manchester Utd is a true example of it is not over until it is all over. The game had two major overturns. Interesting match.
I've had games like that where my team does better when I am not watching than they do when I am. It makes it hard to be a fan sometimes. That has to be hard seeing your daughter so infrequently, but I am glad you got to spend some time with her this weekend even if she wasn't feeling 100%.
