High Five Habitat for Humanity - My Actifit Report Card: August 30 2019
I volunteered at the Habitat for Humanity resale shop today and got about half my steps there walking around the shop. I saw this neat Freedom sculpture for sale for $2.50 and it's metal. I thought it was pretty cool so I sent this picture to my daughter-in-law to see if she wanted it. She did, so now it has a new home!
Today was $5 bag day, which means you get a large brown paper grocery bag and whatever clothes, shoes, or purses you can fit in the bag, the cost is only $5. If you want to fill up a second one, it's only $3! So needless to say, it was a very busy day. It's the way we whittle down the inventory to start making room for the fall season. I think the grand champion today was a woman who got THIRTY-SIX SHIRTS in the bag by rolling them up tightly and smashing them down in the bag. Whew! Talk about a bargain.
After I got home we went for a walk before supper and got the rest of the steps. We both felt like if we waited until after supper it probably wouldn't happen, lol. We finished up by watching the first episode of Power for the new season, then a couple of episodes of Walking Dead (we are behind on them!). We almost forgot to stop and post our actifit reports.

I noticed that a Habitat for Humanities store is close to my home the other day when I stopped in to check out the new dollar store. After reading your posts, I need to stop by and check it out in the near future.

@emergehealthier - I don't know how consistent they run from one store to the next - for instance, do all the stores do $5 bag days when they get overstocked? But however it's run, it's a nonprofit store whose proceeds go to building homes for deserving people. So you can't go wrong I hope!
I'll let you know how they run the store after I go and check it out.
