My Actifit Report Card: October 19 2019
We walked on Grant's Trail again today and this time we started from the opposite end that we walked last time. Coming from this end took us by the Clydesdale Farm where we had to stop and say hello to some of the beautiful horses. They also have a few stabled in the barn so that you can see them up close.
Then we went on to Grant's Farm again. They had everything decorated for Halloween. We wanted to stay until it was dark to see all the decorations lit up but since we were walking on the trail it was getting too chilly to walk back to the car after dark. Plus it started to sprinkle while we were waiting to take the tram back to the entrance so we figured we had better get started back before we ended up walking in the rain.
This set of dragons was on guard duty in front of one of the exhibits. I can imagine how much scarier they would be at night with the red eyes glowing. There were sound effects as well.
And these pirates were out trolling for more treasure. The skeleton at the helm moved his head from side to side and seemed to look right at you. He also was turning the ship's wheel back and forth. There were lots of parents there with their children that were really enjoying the warm October day and the Halloween themed decorations. Grant's Farm is a very nice affordable outdoor adventure for a family. There's a small charge to park (which we didn't have since we walked in on the trail) but there is no entrance fee. The tram that takes you all around the farm is also free. They do charge for a few of the extra things - for instance, you can take a ride on a camel (yes, a real camel!) for $6. And they have a carousel for the kiddos and it costs $2. But all in all, very reasonable in this day and age. And throw in the fact that Anheuser Busch also throws in 2 adult libations for free and even dad is happy to make the trip!
Even the older "kids" (aka @crypt-skip!) enjoyed seeing the animals and petting them.

What fun! The Halloween decorations are so awesome!
I'm sure they were really something at night, but we couldn't stay that long to see it.
I love the Halloween decorations, particularly the one of the skeleton and skeleton dog.

They did a lot of work to make it a fun Halloween place.

Halloween is fast approaching and the decorations looks amazing. Those dragons are sure to keep some of the kids away but then again getting treats would probably wouldn't keep them away.
You're right @watersnake101 - there's not much that can deter the kids from collecting treats, lol.
Oh that looks like loads of fun, Halloween is not something celebrated here always enjoy seeing the effort put into this celebration.
Heavy horses are my favourite Tammy, we saw some up in the UK many years ago, really a hard working horse.
@joanstewart - I love the Clydesdales too. I'm getting ready to do a whole post just about them and the trip to their farm. They are so majestic!

@jaichai - lol, good one! It would make a good meme! Thanks for stopping by.
I really like those Halloween decorations. People put in a lot of effort.
This is a great actifit post because it is interesting.
@abitcoinskeptic - yes, Grant's Farm did a great job. And thanks for saying my @actifit post is interesting - I try to make them so, but a lot of people don't look at them and a lot of curator's say "No actifit posts" because the norm is just a sentence or two. So thanks for checking it out!

That looks like an awesome way to spend the day! There is an orchard not far from me that does similar things, but without the vast amount of decoration. That first skeleton picture is priceless!

That first skeleton pair is too funny! We have some friends with a set of skeletons and the husband moves them around all throughout the month in different hilarious scenes. I always enjoy seeing the different takes on decorations this time of year. We don't decorate ourselves, but luckily quite a few neighbors put up plenty for us to enjoy. :)
I love the skeletons. Looks fun. I spent the afternoon with my granddaughter at a miniature horse farm.
Boy they go all out with the Halloween decorations @blueeyes8960. Great photos. 👍
