THANKS TO ALL VETERANS FOR YOUR SERVICE! - My Actifit Report Card: November 10 2019
We had an absolutely gorgeous day today. A warm sunny 58 degrees, I really couldn't envision a more perfect day for walking. These huge old trees dwarf the blue playground equipment you see in front of them. But I hear that there's a big change coming in the weather tomorrow. Darn it!
I want to stop for a moment, and give a shout out of thanks to all our military veterans. They need to be appreciated, not just today on Veteran's Day, but on every day. Thank you for your service! I'm very proud of my two veteran sons, both were deployed during Operation Enduring Freedom. Josh spent a tour in Afghanistan and Ryan spent a tour in Iraq. Thankfully they both made it home safe.
There's still a bit of fall color to be seen although the majority of the leaves have fallen.
There was a group of younger people playing some kind of cosplay with costumes and swords and mock battles. There were flags flying for different kingdoms and a big kettle drum and various trumpets were sounding off. We watched for a while and they seemed to be really enjoying themselves. There were at least 20 in the group. I wanted to go over and ask some questions, but in the end, I decided not to intrude.
I think it's great that they were OUTSIDE and DOING THINGS out in the real world as opposed to sitting in front of a screen playing virtual games!

Thank goodness both your sons came back home safe and sound but like many others put their lives at risk, they rightfully are to be commended!
I totally agree with you that youngsters today spend way too much time in front of screens, really need to get outdoors more often!
