A Moment of Silence - My Actifit Report Card: November 18 2019
A week ago I posted a picture of my hometown high school football team and how they had won their first-round playoff game. And how proud the community was of this team for having the best record of any team in Vandal history.
This past Saturday was their second-round playoff game. Unfortunately, they didn't win. But the real tragedy occurred on the way home from the game.
Four lives were ended in a fatal car crash. Two grandparents along with their 14-year-old granddaughter and her best friend.
Our high school principal was devasted to learn that both his parents and his daughter were the victims of this crash.
This is a sad day for our community, the families, and the students.
Area schools, groups, and businesses all performed vigils, moments of silence, and wore the school colors of red and black in memory. You can read about all the support here at Vandalia Radio News.
You can see what community support can mean in troubled times. I'm even grateful for my online communities, such as my @actifit friends here because the connections are real, even if they are virtual.

Oh wow 😱. My heartfelt💔 condolences to that principal, the family and your entire community. Very devastating to lose parents and a child all at one go😢. I don't even know what to say but just keep them in my prayers.
