My Actifit Report Card: February 2 2020
Hi everyone!! Thanks for stopping by!
We got up this morning and got ready to head for church; a service we weren’t sure was going to happen. The flooding in the area we are experiencing had worsened over night. We told the pastor we were coming anyway, and so we set out after picking up Jan, and headed to church. We had picked our route out prior to leaving based on yesterday’s afternoon excursion. When we got closer to the church, the sight that greeted us was a bit un-nerving. All of the Sumas fire department vehicles, including fire trucks, ambulance, water tanks, etc., were in the church parking lot. When we got inside, we were greeted with various members of the emergency response team from Sumas, as well as some volunteers from the Bellingham Fire district who came to help. Apparently, the firehouse was being cut off by flood waters and they needed a safe dry haven to operate out of. Our church is on higher ground, so they base out of there. There were so many people there, we felt like we were late even though it was just before 8 AM! Church starts at 10 AM.
This was the first time we were going to use a drum machine in the keyboard live, so it was a bit of a nervous sort of morning. Plus, we are used to having the place to ourselves for worship team practice, so all those folks kind of made us a bit nervous as well. We began at 10 AM, and it was one of the sparsest services we’ve had, but I will have to say, even with only 16 people present, I heard the congregation singing the loudest I had ever heard! The sermon was great, and the potluck afterwards was small and inviting. A good time was had by all!
After we got home, we connected with Jan and set out to do the long hike. I’ve been noticing little baby mushrooms poking their heads out here and there, and captured a few in photographs.
It was a bit cooler today as they were originally forecasting snow, but the clouds parted and we got partial sunshine. It was nice; we’ve had so many grey days here of late.
After dinner and a little TV, it will be time for bed. Tomorrow begins week 2 of my 5 day workweek. Friday coming will end it and the next week I will be back to Wednesday through Friday. It will be nice to have the time back for myself, and get back to normal.
That’s gonna be it for now………

My mom and dad have to go way out of their way to get to church when the area around them floods. It happens pretty much every Spring. You would think they would do something about it. Chances are the DEQ probably won't let them.
I looked at it as an adventure. lol! I am sorry though, for the folks who sustained damage. I know there's a lot of them.
