Actifit: October 8 2019- Grand Canyon day 2

A few images from today, we rode the shuttle bus from Grand Canyon Village to Hermits Rest and stopped at 7 or 8 overlooks to find geocaches and take photos.

We learned about am Uranium Mine that it's now a Superfund site within the park.
You can still see some of the equipment and, on the right side below, the hole that is the mine entrance.

And more overlooks, this one sometimes has California Condors nesting near it!

And we could see the Colorado river from this one-

At the Abyss overlook we saw 2 helicopters tours flying very close. This was one of them.

Once we finished our visit to the park, we headed back to Las Vegas. We're stopped to grab a cache in Seligman, AZ and saw this cute little sno cone shop on Route 66.

We are now settled into our hotel for the evening, we head to the airport tomorrow morning and should be home by 6 pm. Back into the snow we go! Good bye sunshine!
