Back to my report, I finally got an automaticwin after a long absence in that arena. I slept past 2 am and woke up by 5 trying to come up with ideas for a landing page so I took a walk immediately I could see far enough. Lol.

I also went for a walk in the evening and when I got back I felt really angry when I opened @upvotebuilders blog and saw 12 downvotes, I thought to myself, what could I have posted that brought this upon the community, alas, we didn’t do anything wrong, nothing was wrong with our post, someone apparently is in a downvote war with one of our members and because that member tagged downvoter in one of his comments on our post the downvoter decides to give us a load of downvotes.
In everything that HF21 was to bring, this is the one area I have always felt was wrong from the word go. It is like giving kids loaded guns. Now a lot of small accounts are hammered and their balances cleared while most of the big accounts don’t receive the impact of such downvotes as -$0.12 of $20 isn’t anything but -$0.12 off $0.09 doesn’t show love at all. Is the man/women earning $0.09 the one milking the blockchain? NO. They just want a place to speak their views.
I love Chris De Burgh, he has so many songs to his credit, today, I think love for the people who wrong you us is what I should consider playing. Hope you enjoy the music.

with downvotes some are doing it on posts that look like daily automated stuff. I think SBI may also take some flack. anything that is seen as not proof of brain. ie SBI can be seen as same as paying for bids to upvote yourself to make extra steem.

Yes, it was a war between 2 steem users and one was a member of @upvotebuilders.

Steemmonster is a bid bot for a DEC. Leo, AAA, Sports, Neoxian and Pal are some other tokens I can think of too that burn their tokens via the bid bot on steembottracker.

Hi @michealb, I saw a message from you on Steemworld but when I clicked to respond it doesn't show again.
"times are changing", "change is in the air and i am 100% for it."
Those 2 quotes are from you and I believe in the saying that "Change is constant". Problem solving has to do with finding solutions to current issues and future challenges. For this we develop solutions that vary from one problem to the other because one solution doesn't fit all problems.
My people say "Be careful so don't throw away the baby with the bath water".
I am for change, and that is why I have been educating members about HF21 long before it even came, I was talking about the need to grow the SP because that is going to be very important after HF21. For this I invested in growing my SP via leasing from 5k+ 20k+ before HF21 and now at 40k+.
But I believe that all hands are not equal, not all can buy or lease large amounts of Steem and power up to take advantages of some of this change. And that is why I have been curating a lot of small account owners too.
I don't think HF21/22 is perfect and that is why there will be HF23 and more in the future because that is what change is all about. It doesn't stop, we look at the errors and implement another set of changes to strive for perfection. Change is a continuous process.
The downvoting, yes has been working but has not been 100% as there has been errors. I got downvoted for commenting and encouraging an actfiter on her post and the person that downvoted me did it because he and the person played a game on one of the Dapps and the lady won him. So for that reason anyone commenting and upvoting her gets a downvote on their post. This happened before HF21 but now so many funny episodes are playing out. Members are becoming afraid of making comments or even posting because they don't know who they'll hurt.
The owner of steemworld made a proposal and some people (not him or with his knowledge) promoter his post with bidbots and he got loads of downvotes, on investigation it was discovered that the people that promoted was doing so their way of supporting him. Some users went as far as removing their witness votes from the witnesses that downvoted. I think 1 or 2 of such witness has reverse themselves after the episode.
It is reminding me of back in the days when my country was under military rule (a dictatorship government). People were getting arrested for having difference of opinion, people couldn't talk for fear of been arrested. Notice safe for your name I haven't mentioned any other persons name in this comment? Yeah, that now attracts a downvote in many cases.
If we don't want bid bot then we should state it.
If we don't want tribes to burn their tokens via bid bots then we state it.
The popular site where all these promotions are done should be closed.
This will help members trying to set up a community so that they know before hand what they can do and not do. A lot of money goes into creating those tribes. They ask for SP delegations so they can burn their token and reward delegators in their own token. If they don't burn their tokens via bid bot they can't reward those that delegated for that purpose then how do they continuously burn their tokens?
Can a user with great content Rep 45, on Steem 2year+ and with 400 SP start receiving 100% upvote from the big account so that they grow. Then they should be doing it so that small content creator know that you don't have to be big before you get noticed.
I noticed a lot of users are putting a lot of efforts into downvoting and not even reading good post and upvoting them. Some only upvote the big names they know already and not taking time to discover smaller new accounts.
Are we putting a lot of energy, time and resources into coming up with solutions and alternatives to things we say we don't like?
In my one year here i've been teaching a lot of people about Steem, I've helped a lot of them open an account same day. I have been encouraging them too in all the ways that I can but it has been had and it is getting harder.
You have done great for me, the community i set up and so many people on Steem, you have been exceptionally great like no one I've seen here. The wonderful part of it is that you have not been loud about the things you've been doing (discrete in nature). So not many may know about your good works.
As you continue your part in the change you seek, I beg of you to please remember that we should not throw away the baby with the bath water.

Steemworld downvotes. i wont be voting for steemworld, can do without. Yes mistakes are made.
A Lot of things should be said and done, i personally follow trafalgar, kevinwong, Dan and a few others ideas. they make sense to me.
If i was teaching others, i would teach them to vote honestly. Read a blog and up vote based on the value it gave to you the reader. I feel all other reasons have dishonesty in them somewhere. Not that i always get it right or always do the right thing though.
Personal. One of the reasons i stopped posting was that i would see myself around the top of actifit's trending page every day and i got there by circle jerking, self voting etc,( had bought not earned) Have a look at actifit trending and think which posts should be in the top 10. Before it did not make any sense to change anything, Now with free downvotes and better curation rewards it helps :)

Thanks a lot for your quick response, to be honest with you, I am massively enjoying HF21/22 because I have seen what an increased SP can do for you.
On-boarding people on Steem in itself is greatly difficult for people just learning about Steem. It is one of the cryptos I teach about for I students train and NO using bid bot is not part of the training as they don't even have money to power up so they can comment as they wish to. I usually send them steem to start with. Creating their profile, understanding Steem, SBD and SP, Steemwallet and Steem (blogging side), using different UIs', claiming their SP and other stuff as regards to navigating on the platform is mostly what I teach about.
For me steemworld is helping in the area of tracking, evaluating, delegating, claiming and staking steem and all the tribe tokens at a go instead of doing it one at a time which are things you can't fine on other fronts that I know of even steem-engine itself. There are loads of other things you can do that I haven't even explored yet but I am not asking you to use it.
I believe in keeping to set out rules as established by an organisation or body. And that is why I say ban bid bots, ban tribes from burning their tokens via promotions, ban the sites where these are promoted. If that is done then people know what the rules are and keep to them. But when thing become personal opinions which vary from person to person then we have conflicts and in conflicts it's the little guys that suffer.
I can't follow everybody on Steem and I can't accept all their decision or philosophy of life. I respect their views though. As it is for religion and politics we can not all have the same views and that is were agreed rules come into play.
It has been a long since I last visited the trending pages of Actifit, Steem or any of the tribes because I prefer the New Post section. I don't make a post and go and check where I am placed. But yesterday I did visit the trending page of steemit to see what was happening and what I saw was different wars going on, to be candid.
I saw people upvoting and downvoting and going to post of people that downvote to retaliate and for some those that don't have any post they downvote their comments.
I saw people I consider as good guys giving an upvote on a post and another set of people I consider as good guys downvoting it. Lol.
I saw people having different point of views on something and their way of disagreement with that post was a downvote and not a comment explaining their own views.
I saw people with negative Rep downvoting and not knowing why they were doing so.
I saw big account still showing on the trending page even when the post has been downvoted.
When you were posting, you had a large SP, you were commenting on a lot of members post, upvoting and doing giveaways and that attracted a lot of follows to you. There are a lot of content creators I have set to upvote automatically because I've been following their post and reading up on what they posting about, I go to steemworld to pick and read the once I didn't catch on my feed. That was the way it was for me with your post and i am sure a lot of people followed you that way.
I read and upvote post by taskmaster4450, thecryptodrive, exyle and many more because they post regularly and they inspire and encourage users. Dan is a great guy doing loads of wonderful stuff for the blockchain, I follow kevin but since he is not posting regularly I don't know him that much. Traf I don't much about. I really don't have anything against them.

yeah bit of a war zone one the front page, kinda cool each doing what they feel best. it kinda messes things up when you vote on something and bids are bought for it later - gets confusing on what to do. Notice attention is going to steemmosters and sct bots. if this continues actifit may need to change how they give out steem upvotes, me thinks. it seems the fight is for the steem currency and anything that weakens it / dilutes it by not honest voting - POB idea will eventually have to change. - I hope so anyway.

On the downvoting issue. I think downvoting on Steemit has more negative than positive results. It increases the power of whales, people become less free to post something because someone might be against it, some might even no longer interact with some others on the platform because of it etc. I looked into the downvoter I saw that he actually has a negative social score here. Steemit should at least change the rules for downvoting: the downvoter himself should have a positive score.
