Getting Fit for SteemFest with Actifit and Blocktrades || 22 Sept 19 || How to keep moving when Air Pollution is really bad!
Hello everyone I am back again for this week's competition challenge with the hopes of winning a ticket to SteemFest + Accommodation! Thanks again to @actifit and @blocktrades for making this happen. At the time of writing it is only 44 days till SteemFest and I am excited. Not to mention the #roadtosteemfest initiative as well. Tickets...checked! Air tickets...checked! Accommodation...booked but yet to pay... so the main things all done and now just to work out the finer details of planning, activites, who to meet and what else to do when in Bangkok!
Sorry I am diverging, so how did I pick up my activities this weekend? It has been really bad over the last few weeks in Malaysia and the surrounding countries. We have been experiencing horrible haze from massive fires in Indonesia and the API (Air Pollution Index) has been ranging from 140 to even over 200 at times which is at the "unhealthy" and "very unhealthy" levels. Last week the schools were closed for 2 or 3 days and we were advised to wear masks and stay indoors. You can actually smell the haze!
So for me, I decided to do work around the house. For most of the day I cleaned up my kitchen, cleaned our beds with our special Vivenso machine, did two rounds of laundry and even tried to do some de-cluttering and organising. My work was a little hampered as I have been feeling under the weather since Friday as I have been having low grade fever with joint pain. Plus with the kiddos around, it's tough to really do stuff. Kids really don't do well cooped up indoors with no where to spend their energy. I tried to keep them occupied with some drawing work, play dough and toys because I didn't want them glued to the television or the Ipad over the weekend. It's an easy way out but a really bad one for all the reasons that kids should have limited screen time over all. But I did let them watch for just a little while else I was have gone bonkers as well.
I decided to also do some work on our little community of @steemitmamas and I am glad to report that the community account is also growing nicely, thanks to generous delegations. It feels good to have a more concrete plans moving ahead and do check out the posts for opportunities to win SBI! The latest one being our Sunday Shares! Do check it out if you can!
Towards the evening, both Chapati and Murtabak were really antsy and so we decided to head out for some bubble tea and food. We decided to visit two different bubble tea shops just for fun! Of course we had to go to our favourite which was Chatto and the the other which was Xing Fu Tang. Love bubble tea but gotta control myself because of the sugar content and the tapioca pearls! Too much of anything is bad!
Finally we decided to visit my parents as Mum had cooked Bak Kut Teh (herbal soup pork ribs!) for us. By dinner time, I had only picked up about 8000 steps so I had to step it up. Decided to boogey and march on the spot alternately and my kiddos were wondering what I was up to. They decided to join in for while before losing interest. Once I got my 15,000 it was time to head home and get ready for bed.
Well, that was my "activity filled" day! LOL! I really wish that I could get out for a run or a walk but the haze and being sick doesn't quite make it possible. I am just hoping that it's nothing and will go see the doctor tomorrow if the fever still persists.
Have a great week ahead everyone and thanks for dropping by my little space!
Xoxo,
Khim
p/s any other activity suggestions when you are stuck indoors?
That's a lot of work for one day.
I'm just lazy-ing around being a potato couch..
Though I did managed to get some mise en place done, hoping to bake some rose pineapple tarts tomorrow.
I miss baking so much.. But with the weather, I could only do it at night once the temperature is cooler
Oh yum! What are rose pineapple tarts? Special recipe?
