#freewrite :: 5 minute freewrite - Prompt for Day 840: yarn

"Ting-a-ling ting!"
The bell chimed as Sarah opened the door. The whiff of wood from the wooden shelves lingered in the air and Sarah slowly took a step into the shop.

Everything still looked the same. A sense of familiarity reminded Sarah of the times when she used to come here everyday. She would choose a ball of yarn that called for her on that day and Aunt Janet who owned the shop would then teach her a pattern of her choice.

One day it was a pink pouch, another would be a blue dishcloth. Aunt Janet taught her all the basic skills she needed to know to start crocheting and knitting on her own. They would laugh together while working on the projects at Aunt Janet's counter and Sarah would confide in her when she was troubled at home or in school.

Thinking about this brought tears to Sarah's eyes. She came here for a reason. After years of being away, she came back to attend a funeral, Aunt Janet's funeral.
