No Standing Water!: January 4 2020

A cross in the sky! I don’t see that every day. While cleaning up all the water I could find still in containers after the last rain, I looked up to the artwork in the sky.

It was a beautiful day today but sadly, our hiking plan did not work out. Between us, we had sore knees, sore backs, and a sleepless baby as excuses. The garden needed some attention- so all worked out just fine.

Back to the water. I do set out intentional water collection vessels, but there are always many unintended collection devices as well.

That becomes a problem as soon as it gets a little warmer. We have Mosquitoes in San Diego now that can breed in a bottle cup of water. Added bonus: They can spread Blue Nile disease. Even better - they are active all day and night. Lots of motivation to clean up all standing water.
