Finding things to keep busy - 9/12/19

I thought I'd try something else out for the day. Typically on my days off, I really do nothing, read and run when I think about it. So instead, I had signed up for Door Dash.

Now I'd figure this would give me something productive to do. I could help out people and maybe find some places I hadn't known about. The whole day was kind of... slow. Turns out, they changed the base pay per order in my state, so almost everything is a $2 order. Without a higher base pay or a tip included, it's just not worth accepting. All in all, I got a total of... $26.07. And that was from 5 orders that were above $2. I mean, at least it covers gas costs, but I was expecting a bit more. Hopefully something changes in the near future.

When I got home I just stretched and played with the dogs a bit. Once it cooled off some I went out for a run.

Starting off the run was great. I planned on a goal of 1.6 miles and a total of 12 minutes. Keeping up with my pace from last time felt even easier than before. I was even hitting below 7 minutes again for quite a while. It just seems like I can't quite sustain that speed just yet, but I'll get there. As for the km, I cut off about 5 seconds off my fastest time.

My legs still have a bit of wear and tear from the 5k run. While I managed to hit the same time for my fastest mile, I fell off a lot quicker approaching the second.

I'm expecting to be fairly busy these next couple of days, so I may not be running again until Monday or Tuesday. Which is fine for me. I think I could use 3 days of downtime from running to help prevent any possible injuries.
