Palm trees crossing / Palmen haben Vorfahrt

Wie so oft am Mittwoch nachmittag bin ich auch heute wieder zum Treffen meiner Strickgruppe gegangen. Das Wetter war ganz gut also habe ich erst noch einen Schlenker gemacht durch die grüneren Teile der Stadt. So konnte ich etwas beobachten das ich ziemlich einzigartig finde.

Like most Wednesday afternoonsI went to the meeting of my knitting group. The weather was fine so I took a detour through the nicer, greener parts of the town. This made me witness that's rather unique.

Es ist die Zeit des Jahres, in der die Menschen auf der Nordhalbkugel ihre Topfpflanzen in ihr Winterquartier bringen. Dasselbe passiert gerade in meiner Heimatstadt - wenn auch der Umfang etwas anders ist. Heute haben Palmen Vorfahrt!

It's the time of the year when people in the Northern hemisphere bring their potted plants into their winter quarters. The same happens in my home town right now - though the scope is a bit different. Today palm tress have right of way!

Augen auf im Straßenverkehr - diese Topfpflanzen sind ziemlich groß / Though you have to pay attention on the roads today - these potted palms are XXL!

Und er wirkt auf einmal so leer, der Teil des Parks wo die Palmen ihren Sommer verbrachten / And the part of the park where the palms spent the summer is suddenly so e mpty...

Wer kennt das nicht, diese frei fahrenden Palmen. Echt schlimm. :D

Genau - Alleebäume sind ja schon gefährlich genug und stellen sich harmlosen Autofahrern in den Weg. Aber bewegliche Bäume... geht gar nicht ;)

(@alucian) Die Palmenkutsche. :-) Finde ich cool, das so etwas gemacht wird. Ich finde auch das Palmen immer Vorfahrt haben sollten.^^
