Ramsgate Undercliff: August 22 2019
I planned to go to Pegwell Bay, to the mouth of the River Stour, by the nature reserve. But we were pressed for time, so we drove to the Esplanade at the top of the cliffs and made our way down the many steps to the beach. It was a beautiful day, the sun shimmering on the water, the salt smell and the sandy beaches, always full when I was a child, now nearly empty.
We feasted on fish and chips at The Look Out Cafe and made our way to my sister's where an unfolding drama meant a speedy visit to the Caravan Accessories place just outside Canterbury.
While we were waiting, my sister and I checked all the second-hand caravans for sale. We liked one with a seating area at each end (both made up into double beds - although one was more a large single) and an ensuite. It had a tiny galley but a full sized cooker. Storage was limited, a few cans of baked beans and you would have exhausted the locker space.
So now it is caravan/boat, boat/caravan.
Both alarmingly in my price range.
