A midday walk and more festive decorations

This morning it was raining plus I had an early morning VTC to join so went straight tot he office and the forecast was for rain all day that plus a lot of meetings, I did not expect to get a lot of steps in, but I had a break of a little over an hour at lunchtime and the rain took a break so I went for a stroll, initially with no destination in mind but then when I started walking the rain was holding off so I decided to head to Park ave to see a Decoration I also like to see each year, as you will see later in the post that plan didn't work out well, and I ended up on 66th Ave again when it started to rain again, but luckily only lightly as I didn't have an umbrella with me, but I got some good steps in and some shots to share with this post.

Starting as I usually do with a shot taken with my camera on another day, and what I went to Park Ave to seem, the Nutcrackers have been out in front of this building during this season for a few years and I always swing by them.

And low and behold I could not find a shot of them taken with my camera, but I wanted to show them anyway

So here is s shot of another nutcracker decoration by the Rockefeller Centre actually taken with my camera a couple of years back, these are not around the skating Rink this year either, but I did find some others which I will shot later in this post

OK that was them, and here is a shot of the nutcrackers this year, or should I say lack of them, there is construction going on and this painted fence is all they have this year, not quite what I was wanting to see and hence why I started with the shots from a couple of years ago

My walk took me by Saks 5th Ave, which had a good crowd viewing the windows, this is why I generally like early morning walks to avoid the crowds.

But I wasn’t there for Saks, I remembered that in front of the UBS building on 6th Ave sometimes has Nutcrackers so I went there to check them out and here is a shot of them, the people in shot give a good idea of how tall they are

And the Radio City us ic Hall was lit up at this time so here it is

And the big Christmas tree lights also on 6th Avenue were also lit up, so i had to get a shot fo them to share

And just down 6th Avenue a bit i came across this tree with more nutcrackers surrounding it

There are far more decorations in NYC than we have here, despite the different size of the cities.
These decorations a are bigger and more colorful in my eyes, especially the shop window decorations are something special, no wonder the crowds prevent you from taking pictures, but you have done a great job.

Ohh yes NYC does the decorations so well perhaps over the top and a little !DERANGED but I do enjoy getting around and seeing the sights at this time of year

I stopped in real quick before I got ready for work to get a dose of Christmas and I wasn't disappointed !

I love the giant nutcrackers and tin soldiers and the B&W is super nice.

The giant light string ? I'm really loving that !

Very cool! I have a nephew that is obsessed with nut crackers. I think they even have a big statue in their house that they bring out during Christmas time. Nice shots!
