Another one in the bag. 13.1 miles conquered!
The PV half marathon course was a challenging hilly one. I had not experienced so many hills during a race before. The hills really wear you down and put more stress on your lower body. This was great practice for me in preparation for the Big Sur International Marathon next spring.
The hilly course is worth the trouble for the astonishing views. The route wraps around the scenic Palos Verdes peninsula in Southern California. And the event includes a race within the race. If you are the fastest runner to climb the course’s steepest hill, you take home $500.
After the finish, all runners scored some free beer and free food. And there were only around 1,200 runners total, which is much less than some other events in the area. All in all the event was well organized and lots of fun.
Personally I was aiming to finish around 2 hours and 45 minutes. And I nearly hit it on the dot. My finish time was 2:45:46. And more than 30,000 steps taken today to travel those 13.1 miles.
With all these Actifit gadgets grabbed from Actifit market and activated, i’m curious to see the results for this hard earned Actifit activity report.
