Today I am still sore from Saturday’s half marathon race. I did not much much yesterday. This morning I walked 2.9 miles around my neighborhood. The activity is not all that interesting, so I’ll share some other updates.
Weirdly my habit of posting on STEEM is directly anchored to my walking/running habit. On a day where I am active, it is much more likely to see a post on my blog. The activities unlock my creative mind.
Today I have switched to using Brave browser on my phone, after discovering it supports Brave rewards, earning tokens from ads and distributing to support sites you frequent. I was a little disappointed it does not include the ability to tip on Twitter, and the wallet is not shared across devices.
My Actifit rating is on the cusp of 30.0, so I am hoping consistent posting will help boost my rating a tiny bit. At 30.0 rating I can buy and equip some Sunglasses - L1 from the Actifit market.
I came across a new blockchain fitness app in Trending, called StepChain. The white paper looks pretty slick. It’s very similar to Actifit, but runs on the Ethereum blockchain. I think one of the hardest things for these apps is user acquisition (as is the challenge with all dApps). Competing with Fitbit (now Google) as a social fitness platform is tough. You need a bunch of users for the dApp to thrive.
The StepChain post is here. It’s the only post from that account so far. I hope the team sticks around and engages with the community, since there are a lot of active people on Steem. I also suggested StepChain join forces with Actifit team, since they have overlapping goals.
