What do the letters CCC mean to me?
Shall I tell it or simply let you see?
Here we go.
C stands for cadeau which means "present" and that is what I made today, since it is my youngest's birthday, hurray!
C stands for chocolate.
I bought two dark, one white and one milk chocolate with small kind of smarties in it.
and...
C stands for cornflakes.
You can buy an expensive one, cheap one, use your old one or instead muesli, nuts, raisins, etc.
With me it is all CCC.
This is what you need to start with. I bought the cheapest chocolate I could find.
I used this to melt the dark chocolate in. Two pieces of each 100 gram I broke into small pieces.
Put it in a pan with warm/hot water so it can melt.
Stay close. You can stir if you like. There is a melting point. If it is fluid you can.add the cornflakes.
If it looks like this it is not fluid enough yet.
Add cornflakes to the melted chocolate and cover it with the chocolate. I use a common tablespoon.
Here you see the result but this is way too much chocolate. The idea is to make it light and crunchy. So... more cornflakes!
I added so much cornflakes that in the end the measuring cup was completely filled. As you can see it is still in the pan with hot water. You have to be fast. If the chocolate is over its melting point it will get thick, dry and "lumpy". Carefully spoon the cornflakes through the chocolate. Do not crush it!
I used this baking mold but you can also make cookies or chocolates out of it in a smaller mold or on baking paper.
The chocolate will get hard after some time. I just waited for one hour. If your home is warm you need a fridge otherwise it melts faster as you can make it or eat it.
I decorated the heart a bit and that is what I used the other chocolate for.
Melting the white chocolate. This is more difficult as the dark one. Some white brands you can hardly melt.
I made the dots with a tablespoon. I will use it to stick some other chocolate parts on it.
I once bought smarties and a kind of M&Ms but they did not stick so this time I use this chocolate. Only the white chocolate is from another brand and more expensive.
Here is the end result.
I used 4 bars of chocolate. The total price was 2,20 euro.
