Championship Season (American Football)

If you live outside of the US or under a rock, you may have not known that the College Football Championship took place last night. As I stated in my Actifit post, I was in a school board meeting until late and I by the time I got home I was too tired to watch any of it.

Lucky for us that @sports.guy55 has [written a post]https://www.sportstalksocial.com/sportstalk/@sports.guy55/lsu-dominates-in-a-very-one-sided-championship) with some really great coverage of the game. I am not going to bore you with my attempt to break down the stats. It looks like LSU pretty much dominated the whole game only trailing Clemson by a blink of an eye in the first quarter.

Now that college football is kaput for the season, that means us Football fans can focus our attention on the NFL and the conference playoff games that are taking place this weekend.

If you recall my post from a week or so ago, I said it was going to be KC vs. Baltimore and San Francisco vs. Green Bay. I was 75% right! That isn't too bad considering how horrible my knowledge and intuition of professional football has been this season. If I could have been 75% right in my fantasy league, I might have made it to the playoffs.

These are going to be some really interesting games. Personally, I would love to see a San Francisco/Kansas City Superbowl. I am pretty much over Green Bay. Once again, it appears they were given a questionable call late in the game that clinched it for them. Whether it was right or wrong, I think this has happened enough times that the NFL should be investigating.

The fact is they would lose too much money by penalizing the fan favorites Packers so they will continue to look the other way. Sadly, this happens at the expense of many other teams in the league.

It is hard to not want to cheer for Tennessee, my heart has been there ever since I first visited Nashville several years ago. The fans in that town are pretty awesome and the venues are pretty awesome located within walking distance of some iconic sights and sounds.

Green Bay will be a tough match-up for San Francisco, but I think if the officials don't get too involved and the 49's offense continues to do what it has been doing the Packers shouldn't have a chance.

Kansas City and Tennessee is going to be a different story. Kansas City is a great team, no doubt about that, they proved it last weekend when they basically put up 51 unanswered points to come from behind for the victory. I think The Titans have some buzz and momentum behind them. It is hard to beat a team when they have that energy.

Despite all of that, my picks are still The Chiefs over the Titans and The 49ers over The Packers.
