Feb. 9, 21: Errands, Teaching Calculus, Napping, TV, and Games

The sleep cycle nightmare continues...up before four and another hour and a half short.

Did the usual morning routine long before the sun even thought about coming up and did some dishes and cleaning up in the kitchen.

Got my post done and then took the doggy for a ride into town to run a couple of errands. The place I usually go closed down, but it got sold to another owner relatively nearby. The old place is currently closed for renovations, so I went to the new place. It was really only a couple of blocks away, but of course (going someplace new) I got to play some “can’t get there from here” where cross streets don’t cross all the way and instead turn parallel to the street you want. 🤬

Got there and back ok, eventually, though. 😛 Been a few days since I jacked into the Oculus, got to see if I can summon the energy. Played the Puzzling Places Demo, not sure if I mentioned it before...like a full-on 3D jigsaw puzzle. Totally amazing. I have a rogue lite dungeon crawler beta to try out next.

Kinda’ lame that only twelve games were released for App Lab and most of them are paid...the whole bonus of side loading was getting the amazing free indie games. I guess it’s still a whole procedure to get a game onto App Lab, just slightly less stringent than the actual App Store. Hopefully there will be some more coming soon... I’m really hoping for Pavlov!

Anyway, after I got back, I grabbed some lunch and it was time to meet with my Calculus 1 class. We spent a little time practicing with the limit definition of the derivative and then we went over what questions will be on the first exam.

Had a couple hours to kill in between, so I put some Big Mouth on. Wasn’t long before my eyes started to roll, so I set an alarm for fear I’d just sleep through. Ended up with about an hour or so, luckily I only felt moderately shitty when I got up and a sugar boost from some very unhealthy cereal did the trick.

Met with my Calculus 2 class and covered Trigonometric Substitution. Not exactly the easiest one considering that after we’ve done a bunch of work we still have a trig integral to do! Still, went over quite a few examples and I don’t think I made many mistakes I didn’t catch. 🤓

Had a solid twelve thousand steps by then, so was well set for the day and didn’t need to do any extra laps or anything. Just got ready for bed and watched a few more episodes of Community before falling asleep. We’re on the last season now. 😢 Going to have to go hunting again soon.

I’m just going to throw my hands up at this point. My dCity is endlessly plagued with crime and disaster. Nearly beyond caring...seems like other people are starting to get fed up and dumping out as well.

Spawned another Criminal as well, which knocked out two of my buildings, but got that put for sale on the market.

Back to getting less than half of what I should be on a “normal” day.

Still getting my Holybread tasks done! 👍 Been trying to break through, but lost by just a fraction several times...comes down to luck with critical hits sometimes.

Not advanced yet, but still holding top twenty.

Meh. 😒 CryptoBrewmaster is what it is during the week. Got one or two more ingredients, but didn’t really think about it otherwise.

Well, once again I seriously considered playing Splinterlands, being that time is running out, but once again I didn’t, between preparing to teach, teaching, and collapsing on the couch, there wasn’t much chance of it happening anyway.
