June 23, 21: Routine, Chores, Oculus, Floodlight Nearly Finished, Laps, TV, and Games
Have to admit that my throat and sinuses have really been bothering me. Seems like the more I try not to smoke, the more I do. š” Do or do not, right?
Looking like cryptos May be turning around, but it still remains to be seen. Weāre not out of the woods yet; could be looking at a dead cat bounce:
Time will tell whether we bounce hard or confirm support on the bullish side or if we break support to the bearish side. Weāre right there in that critical zone:
For now, Iām mostly still risk-on. Been compounding into my DeFi positions and I like Aave a lot, but the percentages just donāt give me the same seratonin boost as Polydragon does. For now Iām not going any harder into the LP, just compounding it over in the denā¦that was itās still in FIRE but also earning a relatively good interest rate. The ten percent deposit fee does hurt, but half goes back into the rewards pool and half goes to development and advertising (at least thatās what it says), so I suppose itās alright to contribute to the ecosystem.
I really didnāt want to tackle the floodlight today, and so I used the rain as an excuse to procrastinate. Did just about anything else I could (other than work on the website like I should) including doing the dishes that had piled up in the sink (too greasy and nasty for the machine) and gathering up and taking out the garbage even though thatās not until tomorrow. š
I tried out the new AppLab game I downloaded. I think the idea was cool, but moving was hard and climbing was so glitchy that it was impossible for me to complete the tutorialā¦not sure if it was me doing things wrong, but I donāt think so; probably needs some major patching. Got frustrated and quit out of that pretty quick and played some Star Wars Pinball for a while.
I did start trying to watch some more tutorials on what I need to do to make the website work the way I wantā¦I could just do it, but then the user experience would suck like it does with a lot of these sites; should not need to refresh the browser to see changes in data! I know what it is I need to use to make it happen: AJAX, but I donāt quite know how to use it (and jquery) in the context of WordPressā¦layers of complication.
However, it does seem like AJAX is actually built in to WordPress, itās just figuring out the right hooks and where to put the codeā¦and worrying about scope and all that crapā¦I still have a way to go before I have any solid understanding, I think, but getting there.
By the time I started looking toward bedtime, I still had several thousand steps left to go for the day, so I did some laps and even though I had decided to forget about it, I took the time to play some Splinterlands.
Once I got my steps in, I headed out to adjust the floodlight. Didnāt need anything, lights up the whole back yard, even brighter than the old one! š¤© Put back the rest of the siding I had pulled away from the wall and put the little rubber seal thingy in the front. More or less a job well done, but I donāt feel completely satisfied that the job is finished since it does still need to be sealed with caulking around the edge.
I really didnāt think it was going to happen today, but with three minutes left before the daily reset, I got my third arena win to complete my Holybread tasks for the day! šš
Not sure if theyāre going to come through and do any voting again any time soon, but here I am hanging on anyway.
I think I got a CryptoBrewmaster ingredient today; now that I try and recall, I donāt remember doing it. Maybe not, dunno.
Pounding out missions on Rising Star, though. Did a few music lessons today for the first time to build up my skill and balance my ego meter a little better. Just a few more missions and I get another card! š¤
I opened up Splinterlands, thought āmeh,ā and closed it out for the dayā¦but then, like I said, I had a ton of steps to do, so I decided to play anyway.
Had a significantly better day today.
Got my first quest done, which was Death splinter from yesterday. Got a Legendary Dragon and actually leveled him up!
Got lucky again and got Dragon splinter for my quest today and immediately got to use my new card. š
Finally got up into the next tier of Gold.
Got the Dragon quest done as well, so two sets of rewards for today:

Power up and Hive on!
I haven't played Holybread in over a week. I should stop by the game and play a few "battles". I did notice the manual vote on some random post I visited.
I haven't played much Splinterlands this season. I'm going ot have to spend an hour or two playing so my rank doesn't drop too low next season.
