Athletics Is Highly Dangerous

That is if you are an idiot and don't have eyes in the back of your head and know what is going on around you.I have always been amazed why track events happen at the same time as field events as there is only so much space. Every year the steroid junkies are throwing further and further so knowing where a safe place to stand is trial and error.

The trick is never take your eye off something that can do you bodily harm. This stupid photographer was filming the running and was hit by a stray shot putt. A mild knock to the legs if there is such a thing, but he lives to tell the tale. Others who have been hit were not so fortunate.

Something similar nearly happened to me but it missed me. A discuss will sometimes move in the air depending on how it is thrown and you need to watch as when it lands it can shoot off just as fast when it bounces.

In the past during my school days I was nearly taken out by a discuss when it bounced off the surface and hurtled towards me. This stuff happens on the big meetings as well, but we don't get to hear about what goes down normally. I decided to spend a few hours on Youtube last night to see what was on offer and to be honest I had a large selection and had to pick the best of a bunch that were friendlier for you to view. I am not into blood and stuff and hate to see people get hurt when it shouldn't have happened in the first place.

The javelin ones I skipped for obvious reasons as it is literally a spear and a deadly weapon. There is no such thing as being lucky if you get pinned with one of these things. The poor camera man was nearly pinged with this one and I am sure he moved after this throw. What happens if someone breaks a world record and hits someone at the same time. Surely it has to happen at some point in the future.I think these cases will increase now with the Diamond league. The Diamond league is an athletics meeting held multiple times a week and the whole meeting lasts a few hours for television viewers. They have to have multiple events happening at once otherwise they would never complete it for the viewers.

Yo that would be crazy if someone broke a record and killed someone at the same time. Where do they call the distance, where it landed or where the dead person fell... Ugh

Usually but not all sporting event organizers would purchase a public liability insurance to cover the organizers' legal liability to sportsmen/sportwomen and spectators. The injured person has to sue the organizers and establish negligence in a court of law. If the court finds the organizer negligent and awards damages, then the insurer would settle the claim on behalf of the organizers. This can be onerous and time consuming process which may not be worth it if the injury is minor.

If you are a sportsmen/sportswomen or someone who frequents sporting events, it is always advisable to have Personal Accident Insurance and Health Insurance coverage. Under such policies you simply claim direct from your insurer as per the terms of the policies, without the need to sue any third party.

Most of these policies will have an exclusion for injuries or death arising from participation in professional sports. Insurers, generally, would for an additional premium extend to cover such eventualities upon request.

I remember seeing one from a while ago where the guy actually did get hit with the javelin. I don't remember where or when it was from though. It is definitely crazy stuff. There are all kinds of cameramen that get run over along the sidelines of football and basketball games.
