NCAA Basketball Top 25 Recap 1/22/2020
Only one upset last night and no overtime games. That is pretty rare for the current college basketball season...
For the most part, none of the games were really even that close. Kentucky easily handled Georgia and Northwestern lost to Maryland just as I expected. San Diego State put a beating down on Wyoming and Duke did the same to Miami.
The Butler/Villanova game wasn't even that exciting with the Wildcats beating the Bulldogs by 15 points.
I told you the Kansas State/Kansas game was going to be good and even though the score doesn't really reflect that, there was a huge fight towards the end of the game that will probably be covered for the next week straight.

Basically, De Sousa from Kansas (who already received a ban for taking money from Adidas) forcefully swatted away what would have been an easy basket for K-State. One that would have had zero impact on the outcome of the game. It was unnecessary and cheap. Then he proceeded to stand over the K-State player who had fallen to the ground as a result of the blocked shot.
If there would have been time left on the clock, this would have resulted in a technical foul immediately. It's unsportsmanlike conduct to stand over an opponent like that. Since the game was over, the benches cleared and chaos ensued.
You can see in the article De Sousa even had a chair at one point. Pretty pathetic especially when your team is winning. This guy needs to be gone for good. I hope the NCAA lays down some strict penalties for those who perpetrated this.

I'm glad you are posting these. Since I don't have any sort of USA influence in my daily life and my TV plays shows i don't understand, and i also forget to look, i only know what is going on in b-ball because of you!
Thanks I appreciate it! I feel bad that I haven't been covering Nebraska too much since they aren't in the top 25. I know you lived all over so you probably have some regional favorites too.
at this point i just want to stay on top of the NCAA in a general sense and your writeups accomplish that for me. We get the odd NBA game over here but getting college games involves dodgy websites or using a VPN and some overpriced ESPN pay service.
Ah, okay, glad I can help. This has seriously been one of the most awesome seasons of college basketball I can remember. I enjoy doing the writeups and keeping up with teams outside the Big10 is hopefully going to help me come bracket time!
