Fancy Moves - MMA Fighter vs Wannabe Fighter

People who train martial arts, have an open mind and spend time learning more know what works in a fight. Sometimes I share videos and I also share my opinions. If you are passionate about martial arts, please keep reading.

There is a video where Dr. Mark Phillips, a martial arts and defensive skills instructor shared his opinions. It is a fight between an MMA fighter and a wannabe fighter. Let's watch this video.

You see there are people who are watching the fight. The MMA fighter and wannabe fighter, who dresses like Bruce Lee are in a fight. Wait a minute! What just happened in the first strike?

Looks like the wannabe fighter did a flying kick. Well, when you kick or punch, it is totally useless if you do not consider the distance. Understanding the distance in a fight whether you fight in a fighting competition or in real life for self defense is very important. Otherwise, whatever you do, that is not going to work.

If you do a flying kick, you miss the target and land on close to your opponent, there is a high chance you will get hit. Your opponent can exploit this vulnerable position. Did you see how he ran away when the MMA fighter was about to punch?

This is a fighting match. There are rules and you cannot hit certain parts of the body. If this is a fight in real life, he will be in a big problem. There is an opportunity for the opponent to attack him seriously when he runs like that. As we see, this is a fighting match, not a fight in real life for self defense.

You see what happened at the end. In a fight, experience also matters. I love and respect Bruce Lee. You just cannot pretend like him. Let's end this post with a quote.

"I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times."
– Bruce Lee

Thank you so much for reading this post and watching the video. Please feel free to let me know your thoughts in the comment section.

Take care. Always be happy!
