Fighting With Weapons – Self Defense

Sometimes you see the attackers attack people with a weapon. It could be a knife, stick, bottle, blade or anything. If you know the basic self defense, you can apply the principles to defend yourself. You can do a lot of things. If you understand the basics, it helps you to deal with different situations successfully.

Let’s think you do not have a weapon. And the attacker is going to punch you or kick you. What would you do? You can defend the punch, lock the attacker’s hand and make him fall on the ground. Or, you can make the distance and kick his leg so that it will prevent him from getting close to you.

If he is not in a punching range, he cannot hit you with punches, no matter how good he is in boxing. You are using your longest weapon – legs to attack and prevent him from moving forward and getting close to you.

When you and your opponent have sticks, think like this is the extension of your arms. You can hit your opponent with the stick without getting in a punching range. And at the same time, your opponent can also attack you with the stick.

So you two can attack each other. You can also use this stick to defend yourself. How about if your opponent cannot hold the stick?

You can hit your opponent hand with the stick. If you both are attacking the same time, you might get hit even you hit his hand. So you can move your head back to avoid that. Or, you can move to the side and attack your opponent where you have the advantage to hit him, and he is in an awkward position to attack you.

You can apply the same principle while fighting with other weapons or without any weapons. For example, if you attack the attacker’s legs, he cannot move easily, let alone attacking you. When you fight for self defense, use reasonable force to strike. If someone is just messing around and does not mean to hurt you, you do not need to hurt him pretty bad.

Sometimes the attackers target people who seems less confident, weak and vulnerable. And sometimes you just need to show that they are making mistakes and picking up the wrong guy. You are nice to other people does not mean you are weak. You do not talk much does not mean you cannot talk. Be aware of your surroundings and take action based on the situation.

We all want to live a happy life. We love our family, relatives, and friends. We respect our seniors. We do not want to hurt anyone unless we are being attacked and we have to fight back to survive. Life is beautiful. Let’s spread love and positive vibes.
