How To See The Punch and Kick To Defend and Counter-Attack

We talk about different strikes and how you can defend yourself. To defend any attack, you need to see that. If you cannot see a specific strike, you will not be able to defend that.

So when you fight for self defense, how can you see the attack for the first place?

You can look at your opponent's eyes. When you look at the eyes, you can see a lot of things. There are some advantages as well as disadvantages of looking at eyes. Before attacking a specific part of the body, the attacker usually looks at that. You can understand where he is going to attack. Then you see how he is going to attack. Is it a kick, punch, palm strike, or anything else?

The attacker can trick you. He looks at somewhere and attacks somewhere else. Or, he can make a wrong indication and make his move. It is better to focus on his body movement. When he makes any move, his body moves. You can look at his throat. You can see his entire body.

If he is going to punch you, you can see that his shoulder is moving. So you observe his movement instead of what he is indicating. It is like you do not listen to what he says; you watch what he does. The more observation skills you have, the better.

If you look at his legs in case he kicks, you will miss when he punches. So don't look down. Otherwise, you will not know what's going on up there. If there is a single attacker, it is easy to deal with the situation. However, there could be multiple attackers.

You see that someone is shouting at you. Maybe the attacker is moving or jumping in front of you. And your whole attention is there. If there are multiple attackers and you just do not know about it, they can come close to the side or back, attack you. In a street fight, it happens.

So do not just focus on a single person who you see a possible threat. You need to look around as well. Thank you so much for reading this post. Please feel free to let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
