How To Set Up A Tire - Filipino Martial Arts

avatar

We talk about different techniques and strikes that you can use in a fight for self defense. You practice on your own. At some points, you need to practice with your training partner. It is important to know how it feels when you strike.

Punching and kicking in the air are different than actually punching and kicking the attacker. If you hit the attackers, you feel force and pressure at the time of contacting his body. If you never hit something, it will be difficult to execute the techniques and strike when the time comes.

So you can use a punching bag or kick bag to train. We usually know about punching and kicking on a kick bag. Today we are going to talk about how to set up a tire to train. In Filipino martial arts, you see they use tire on their training and hit with the stick.

You need two tires and one rope or a long belt. You can use the pillar or tree to bind the tires. Even if you go on a vacation, you can always find trees, and you can make this in a couple of minutes.

First, you need to bind the tire on the tree, and it should be up to your head or a little higher. Tighten it so that it does not move. Then you can use another tire and bind it below the first tire. Once you are done, you are ready to go.

You can think of the top tire as the upper part of the body to strike and the lower tire as legs. Let's watch this video to see how it looks like. This is not my video, and all video credit goes to Budo Brothers.
