Welcome back to Self Defense Situation - What Do You Do? - Part 30. This is part 30, and if you read any post of this series, you know we talk about different situations and what you can do to defend yourself in that situation.

Sometimes you have the time to talk to the attacker and calm him down. You can avoid a fight. Everything does not necessarily end up in a fight.

Sometimes you do not have a chance to talk to the attacker because he has already attacked you. So you have to be proactive and make your move fast to protect yourself. You often see the attacker gets close to you. In order to attack you, he has to get close to you.

The attacker can attack you with a weapon, and at the same time, you can use anything as a weapon, for example, pen, umbrella, bottle, and so on. Let's watch this video. This is not my video, and all video credit goes to Nick Drossos.

Source and Video Credit

In this video, you see two guys are arguing. One guy is shouting and at the same time, pointing his finger at his opponent. From there, the guy can attack the guy with a red cap at any time. We are going to talk about this situation from both angles.

Here I am not going to judge who is a good guy or bad guy. So when the guy with a red cap sees the opponent's finger close to his body, he should be more careful. It is because he can get attacked at any time. And it would be difficult to respond since the guy's hand is already close to his body.

You see, the guy moves forward, and that's the reason they are close to each other. The guy with the red cap did something that you should not do. That is, he turns, and his back is completely exposed. In a street fight, sometimes you see the attacker turns his head, then suddenly turns back and attacks. This is a trick that some people use.

It is a very dangerous thing to do in a street fight. Do you think you can fool the guy turning your back while the guy can easily attack you and hurt you pretty bad? So always keep your eye on the attackers. As Bruce Lee said,

Never take your eyes off your opponent even when you bow. -- Bruce Lee
