What You Don't Want To Do In A Street Fight

When you practice martial arts, you do a lot of things that are absolutely alright for training or in a fighting competition. The problem is, when you do something on the training, you get used to it. And when you are in a fight for self defense, you do that exact thing, not realizing that could put you in a vulnerable position.

You always stand in a fighting stance to fight. You and your opponent stand face to face, bow, and when your teacher says, fight, the fight begins. Now when you feel you are going to be attacked outside on the street, what are you going to do? Take your position, stand in a fighting stance, knee bend, keep your hands up with a fist.

If you stand in a fighting stance, you are giving the obvious signal that you want to fight to solve that, talking part is over, let's fight and finish it once and for all. Seeing this, if that guy calls his friends and other people, the situation can change in a minute. Now the fighting stance that is very useful can put you in a vulnerable position.

In a street fight, don't give any signal to your attackers that you are ready to fight and take them down. Instead, try to talk to him, calm him down and at the same time, be prepared to defend and counter-attack.

Your moves should be based on the situation you are in. Every situation is different. What I'm saying here, it can work in a particular situation, but it might not work in another situation. You have to decide based on your observation.

If you see the guy keeps attacking people in front of you, and you are going to be next. Then don't wait for him to attack you. When he is about to attack you, attack him first. This is something that he might not expect. You can make your move to defend yourself. You can call the police and ask for you.

Put reasonable force to counter-attack. If a guy is showing off and says he is going to punch you, maybe he does not mean to hurt you pretty bad, don't just strike him and hurt him pretty bad. Instead, you can lock him or put him in a position where he cannot attack you anymore.

In a street fight, never underestimate the attacker. You just don't know what he is capable of doing. If you see a big guy, that means he is a tough fighter, and if that guy is not big in size, he is not a good fight, it does not work like that in a street fight. So be ready and don't underestimate your opponent.

Hope you will find this useful for self defense. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this post. If you like martial arts and want to learn more about it, you can check out some of my recent posts.

@rezoanulvibes Excellent post dear friend.
It's true what you say. if you have good knowledge of fighting techniques, you must always choose the option to fix things by talking, if it can be solved this way better, otherwise you appeal to your knowledge and end the lawsuit in second
Thank you very much for sharing all these fighting teachings
I wish you a wonderful day

Everything does not have to end up in a fight. We can solve many things before getting there. Fight for self defense as a last resort.

It is inspiring to get feedback from people. I will keep sharing. So please stay tuned. Thank you so much @jlufer for your comment!
