Choke is one of the most dangerous attacks. Someone grabs your throat and tries to hurt you, that can be dangerous. Sometimes you practice how to defend choke, it seems you can do apply the technique well, but when you get attacked for real, you might face some serious problems.

Maybe you think you will do this and do that if someone is going to choke you. But can you really do that? Well, you can practice with your training partner, you think it will work. But does it really work in real life?

When you practice with a training partner, maybe there is something you are missing. Your training partner does not want to hurt you. Your partner can attack you aggressively, but his or her intention is good, whatever your training partner does, he or she always makes sure you do not get hurt. Maybe if you train with your boyfriend or girlfriend at home, I don't know.

So how does it make the difference?

It makes a huge difference. The attacker's intention is to hurt you pretty bad. When the attacker is going to choke you, that person will not just touch your throat. The attacker grabs your throat tight and the most dangerous thing is, that person puts pressure on your throat.

When someone puts pressure on your throat, you will find it hard to breathe. How long do you think you will survive like this? So what you think you would do in this situation, it seems you cannot do anything.

When someone chokes you, first of all, make you that you can breathe. You can bend your chin and make your throat tight. The attacker can still put pressure, but you can breathe. Then you can grab the attacker's thumb and pull it outside. As soon as you keep his hands away from your throat, attack the attacker. Don't give him anything chance to choke you.

If someone pushes you against the wall, keep your head forward so that you do not get hit on your head. You can follow this technique.

Whatever you do in a situation like this, just do it fast and counter-attack. Then get out there as soon as possible. You do not want to stay there and keep fighting, do you?
