We are entering squeaky bum time now with it all still to play for between 6 of the 8 franchises. While top and bottom places are assured for the Stars and Renegades respectively both these sides know that a win in this fixture is vital for their chances of making the final. Following the Sixers victory this morning, the Strikers know that 2 points in this game will take them into 2nd place given their superior NRR and ensure that the resulting fixture against the men in pink takes place on home soil. As for the Hurricanes, a couple of wins on the bounce alongside a drop in form of the sides above them has seen them sneak into 5th place. With the Heat still having 2 matches to play and the Thunder and Scorchers playing each just prior to this match the Hurricanes will have a clearer picture of what needs to be done by the time of the bat flip but the reality is that they will likely need to get a victory if they are to have any chance of making the playoffs.

Both sides have been reinforced during the week by returning international stars, namely Carey and Short while the Hurricanes are also boosted by the return of James Faulkner from injury. As the stats above show, these are 2 batting line-ups that are bang in form. The Strikers are working on a tried and trusted principle that has seen them become one of the most successful franchises in Bash history. They know that with their powerful bowling line-up that a score of 160+ will be very difficult to chase as was the case these 2 teams last met.

While the last 3 games have seen some lower scores that is largely more a result of poor batting from the likes of the Heat and Renegades and I'd expect this pitch to play fairly well. Add to that fact that the boundaries at the Adelaide Oval tend to be quite short square of the wicket and we could be in for an entertaining game.

Good batting and bowling on both ends. I would call for a 313. Fingers crossed
