A couple of weeks back people were backing this Heat team to win the tournament after a series of impressive displays with both bat and ball. Now, after a couple of heavy defeats which has seen them bowled out in their last 2 innings, the Heat have slipped out of the top 5 with the Hurricanes also breathing hard down their necks following their impressive win against the Renegades yesterday.

The problems for the Heat are all too familiar! They either go big or they fail spectacularly. In fact, in their last outing against the Renegades, they managed to do both within the space of a single innings, at one point cruising towards victory they then lost 3 wickets in 5 balls and after a further rebuilding, they capitulated losing 5 for 5 to crash to a heavy defeat against the league's bottom side. Playing slow bowling also appears to be a problem for the Heat and they are likely to face at least 2 specialist spinners in this match.

The Sixers meanwhile got their push for a top 2 spot back on course with a win against the Stars last time out. In terms of wickets taken they are the most effective bowling unit in the competition but equally, they got absolutely slaughtered the last time these 2 teams met at the SCG when Chris Lynn was just a couple of feet shy of scoring the competition's fastest ever hundred.

2 things to watch out for in making your prediction for this game would be who bats first - The Heat are far more effective going first than they are chasing, as well as the weather - the monsoon has well and truly struck the North/North-East part of Australia with some torrential albeit very localised downpours hitting Brisbane.

Thank you for the awesome analysis, I missed the previous prediction by just 5 score, not bad I think because as I mentioned I had stretched my prediction from 290s to 310s after reading your points.

In this case as well, I would like to seek guidance from your analysis. I better shrink my score down to 260.
