The second match of the T20 series between Sri Lanka and India was played yesterday at R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo, the match was to be played on 27 July but due to Covid-19 this match was rescheduled to 28 July, in which Sri Lanka beat India by 4 wickets.

Sri Lanka won the toss and invited India to bat first, India Batting first scored 132 runs in the allotted 20 overs for the loss of 5 wickets. India started brilliantly but the end was very bad, Rituraj Gaikwad and Shikhar Dhawan came to start the inning, and gave a good start, the first wicket of the innings fell for 49 runs, Rituraj Gaikwad was dismissed after scoring 21 runs in 18 balls, the next batsman Devdutt Padikkal came to bat, and played well with Shikhar Dhawan, the second wicket of the inning fell for 81 runs, Shikhar Dhawan dismissed after played a brilliant inning of 40 runs with the help of 5 boundaries in 42 balls, next batsman Sanju Samson came to bat, and played well with Devdutt Padikkal for a while, followed by Nitish Rana came to bat, meanwhile the fourth wicket of the inning fell for 104 runs, Sanju Samson was dismissed after scoring 7 runs in 13 balls, the next batsman Bhuvneshwar Kumar came to bat and played well with Nitish Rana, the fifth wicket of the inning fell for 130 runs, Nitish Rana was dismissed after scoring 9 runs in 12 balls, after that Navdeep Saini came to bat and remained unbeaten with Bhuvneshwar Kumar just for 1 run, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar also remained unbeaten on 13 runs in 11 balls. In this way, India batting first after losing the toss scored 132 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs and set a target of 133 runs for Sri Lanka.

Sri Lankan bowler Akela Dhananjay took two wickets, Dushmantha Chameera, Wanindu Hasaranga, and Dasun Shanaka got 1-1 wicket.

Sri Lanka chasing 133 runs in the second inning, they chased the target by losing just 6 wickets in the fourth ball of the last over and won the match by 4 wickets. Sri Lanka did not start very well, Avishka Fernando and Minod Bhanuka came for start the inning, the first wicket of the inning fell for just 12 runs, Avishka Fernando was dismissed after scoring just 11 runs in 13 balls, the next batsman Sadeera Samarawickrama came to bat, and played well with Minod Bhanuka, the second wicket of the inning fell in 39 runs, Sadeera Samarawickrama was dismissed just for 8 runs in 12 balls, after that Dasun Shanaka came to bat, and he dismissed just for 3 runs as the third wicket, the next batsman Dhananjaya de Silva came to bat, and played well with Minod Bhanuka, the fourth wicket of the inning fell in 66 runs, Minod Bhanuka dismissed after playing a brilliant inning of 36 runs with the help of four boundaries in 31 balls, the next batsman Wanindu Hasaranga came to bat, and played well with Wanindu Hasaranga, innings Fifth wicket of 94, Wanindu Hasaranga dismissed after scoring 15 runs in 11 balls, followed by Ramesh Mendis came to bat, and and he dismissed just for 2 runs as the sixth wicket, the next batsman Chamika Karunaratne came to bat, and he remains unbeaten after scoring just 12 runs in 6 balls with Dhananjaya de Silva, Dhananjaya de Silva also played an unbeaten brilliant victory inning of 40 runs with the help of a six and a boundary in 34 balls. Thus, Sri Lanka, chasing 133 runs in the second inning, easily to achieved the target for the loss of just 6 wickets in the fourth ball of the last over and won the match by 4 wickets to level the series.

Indian bowler Kuldeep Yadav took two wickets, Rahul Chahar, Varun Chakravarthy, Chetan Sakaria and Bhuvneshwar Kumar took one1-1 wicket.

Sri Lankan batsman Dhananjay DasilvaDhananjaya de Silva was adjudged the best player of the match, he played an unbeaten brilliant victory inning of 40 runs with the help of a six and a boundary in 34 balls.
