Sevilla are ranked 5th on the standings with 39 points, they have the same 39 points with fourth-placed Atletico Madrid team, but poor in goal difference. The disastrous defeat in the previous round caused coach Julen Lopetegui's team to drop out of the top 4 strongest teams and will have to play very carefully for the rest of the season if at all they want to get a ticket for the Champions League next season.

However, playing against Espanyol at home in round 24, the chance to win is great and with a stronger squad, Sevilla will most likely get all maximum points at home.
