Das Los Angeles Stadtderby in der MLS bedeutet auch Zlatan Ibrahimović vs. Carlos Vela. Der Mexikaner Vela ist der Topscorer der US Soccer-League und spielt für den Los Angeles FC.
Der mittlerweile 37-jährige Zlatan Ibrahimović steht im Dienste der LA Galaxy. Keine 24 Std vor dem Anpfiff erkärt Zlatan in einem Interview in gewohnter Manier, er wäre definitiv besser als Vela und würde das auch jederzeit unter Beweis stellen.

Wer kann der, der kann. Wenn sich jemand solche Sprüche erlauben kann, dann "The real Zlatan" Ibrahimović. So war es wenig verwunderlich, dass die beiden Stürmer in diesem Spiel im Fokus standen und Zlatan hat Wort gehalten.
Es sind 5 Tore gefallen -Zwei von Vela und ein Hattrick von Zlatan. Das war auch der Endstand des Spiels. 3:2 für die LA Galaxy.
