My ANOTHER ACCOMPLISHMENT Actifit Report Card: July 21 2019
That is one big check off my list. I built and hung the lexan overhang for the deck and slider. The structure is 10 feet wide by 33 inch deep. I have it hung at about a 20 deg angle and it puts the lowest point ay about 6 feet 3 inches.
I have been thinking of this project for many months so I am damned happy to have it up. I used redwood for the outer frame and then pine/fir for the ribs. I have lag bolts on both ends of the chain so it won't go any where. This fully finishes my vision for our upper deck.
We had our friends and their kids over today for grilling, hanging out, and catching up. It was awesome and the creek garnered a healthy amount of attention on this hit ass day. My parents were over as well and we got to have our first get together with the new deck.
Did I mention I am proud of this shit?
Finally a finished job like I was client. I never treat myself and my home that way. It is a serious mind shift I am trying to do. Unfinished projects are like grains of sand to me. I need to make them mountains.
Tomorrow is more bean picking and trying to fix the leveling of the frame as it is a bit off.

Pretty neat looking. Never have been much good at building things myself. I remember my one niece saying years ago... Let Uncle Dan tear down the old stuff and, for G-D's sake, don't let him help with the trim work!

Growing up all I did was take stuff apart, now that I am adulting I have learned the joys of building. While generally not high quality at least stuff is structurally sound.
I feel the trim work aspect, I hate detail work.
