Kevin Garnett is being recognized this year for how great a player he was. He is likely going to be in the hall of fame when inductions take place this year.
The Boston Celtics, one of the most storied organizations in professional sports, is going to retire Garnett's number. He brought a championship to Boston in his time there.
He, Ray Allen, and Paul Pierce were an incredible trio for the team from Boston. Garnett was the big force down low.
The coach of that team, Doc Rivers, wants Ray Allen there when the ceremony takes place.
