Diharapkan mampu memberikan tren positif bagi upaya meningkatkan nama pabrikan KTM di ajang MotoGP, Johann Zarco ternyata malah dibenci oleh para petinggi KTM pada akhirnya.

KTM menyesal telah merekrut Zarco karena buruknya penampilan yang mampu disuguhkan. Sebaliknya, Zarco menyalahkan performa motor yang dirakit oleh pabrikan asal Austria dan bermarkas di Mattighofen.
