Chris Silverwood will become the head coach of New England cricket, moving from his current role as bowling coach to Trevor Bayliss on the team.

Bayliss withdrew the contract at the close of Ashes, and Silverwood, who has been with the British organization since the beginning of last year, will take before the UK tour in New Zealand.

Ashley Giles, director of cricket for the UK and Wales Cricket Board, called the former Essex head coach an "important candidate" after he was upset during the interview process.
