France and Fiorentina’s Franck Ribery was recently given a three match ban and was also fined a sum of 20,000 euros (£17,257) after pushing an assistant referee in the match against Lazio where they were beaten by two goals to one.

The France international who was substituted in the 74th minute of the match  pleaded as as objection with officials at the end of the match.

The 34 years old was restrained by his fellow team-mates before he was sent out of the pitch by the referee.

I'm sure he regretted his actions and he has apologized for not being able to control his feelings.

The conduct of Ribery was described by a Serie A disciplinary tribunal to be “very disrespectful”, saying the Franch nd Florentina midfielder approached the official with “threatening behaviour” and pushed him twice.

Right after the incident, ex-Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery tweeted: “I apologise to my team-mates, to the coach, to the fans.

> “I apologise also to (the assistant referee) Mr Passeri because at the end of the game I was very upset and I hope he can understand what was my mood.”
